larryLarry T. Morrisette, DVM
Dr. Morrisette graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. In 1995, after working in the Twin Cities for several years as an associate veterinarian, he became the owner and medical director of Olin Animal Hospital, which evolved and grew into Life Care Animal Hospital of St. Paul.

Dr. Morrisette enjoys the diverse case load of general practice and is especially interested in surgery and internal medicine. He is a member of several professional organizations, including serving on the board of and as past president of the Veterinary College Alumni and Friends Association.

Away from the office, Larry likes to hike, bike, kayak, and in general spend time with his family.

amandaAmanda Harlow, DVM
Dr. Harlow received her veterinary degree from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2004. Prior to that she received her B.A. in Biology from Carleton College. Dr. Harlow has worked at Life Care Animal Hospital since graduation. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association.

Her areas of interest include internal medicine, Diabetes mellitus, and preventative care for all ages. She lives in St. Paul with her husband. In her free time she enjoys hiking, camping and snowshoeing.

helgaHelga Midelfort-Vognar, DVM
Dr. Helga Midelfort-Vognar received her B.A. in biology from Carleton College and then went on to complete her veterinary degree from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2013. Dr. Helga spent her first year post graduation in a high volume equine clinic in Stillwater as an intern. She was very excited to join the Life Care Animal Hospital team in June of 2014. Dr. Helga’s areas of interest include internal medicine, sports medicine, physical therapy, and preventative care. She is a member of Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Helga lives in St. Paul with her apartment sized Golden retriever mix named Treff and visits her horse Ruffian in Cottage Grove whenever possible. In her free time she enjoys playing soccer, running, traveling, hiking, dabbling in agility with Treff and riding Ruffian.

rachaelRachael Bidney
Rachael graduated from Globe college in 2001. She has been working at Life Care Animal Hospital as a technician since February 2006.

Rachael has a Shih tzu named Lucy , a horse named Velvet and freshwater fish.

brianaBriana Karel, CVT
Certified Veterinary Technician
Briana earned her Associate of Applied Science degree from Argosy University in 2010 and interned at Life Care Animal Hospital. Briana began her employment with Life Care in April of 2011.

Briana has a black Labrador named Lexi, as well as a cat named Rafi. She loves snowboarding, playing softball, going to her cabin and shopping in her spare time.

Certified Veterinary Technician
Karla joined our team at Life Care Animal Hospital in May 2012. She has been working as a Certified Veterinary Technician in the metro area since graduating from Ridgewater College in 2003. She has also earned a BS in biology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She stays active in the veterinary community by serving on Ridgewater College’s veterinary technology advisory committee. Karla and her husband have several pets including two Dogue de Bordeaux (French Mastiff), Freya and Vex and 4 house cats, Dante, Fiona, Penny, & Boone.

Lisa earned her Associate of Applied Science degree in 2004. She started working with us at Life Care Animal Hospital in 2015, but has had eight years of previous experience working as a Veterinary Technician.

She has three small dogs, a Jack Russel/Chihuahua mix named Joey, a Chihuahua named Mikey, a longhaired Chihuahua named Jane, and a cat that she rescued named Fibbers.

In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling up north, fishing, reading and working out.

Brooke Miller
Certified Veterinary Technician
Brooke came to us in May as an intern from Argosy University and joined our team as a Technician in July 2015.

She has a wonderful husband named Jeremy. Their furry children include a cat named Milo a, Domestic Shorthair, and a long-haired Chihuahua named Oliver.

In her spare time when she isn’t kissing on her kitty named Bean or cuddling her snake, she enjoys going up north and fishing. She also enjoys playing Frisbee golf.

rhondaRhonda Morrison
Business Manager
A native of St. Paul’s East-side, Rhonda was a customer of the practice when she began her employment with Life Care as a veterinary technician in 1999. Rhonda’s career with animals began when she became a groomer in 1990. Two years later, she opened her own grooming facility in Maplewood. While serving the needs of her growing clientele, she became interested in pet health and nutrition.

Rhonda’s professional interests include fostering the human-animal bond through owner education, animal rescue work, nutrition, and diabetes. When she’s not assisting owners or caring for pets at work, she is playing with her own at home: Mysty the Springer-Cocker cross, Kodi and Millie the Pomeranians, cats Hemi and Huri, and parrots Jasper, Zazu and Soleil.

Kim attended the Veterinary Technician program at the University of Minnesota – Waseca from 1989-1992. She worked in the veterinary field for five years. Kim began working at Life Care in December of 2007 after spending some time at home raising her daughter Brooke.

Kim her husband Rick, and their daughter share their lives with two dogs, Manda a Vizsla, Ronnie a Puggle, Ragna a domestic shorthair orange tabby cat. Kim finds it very rewarding fostering for Second Chance Animal Rescue and helping Cause for Paws Cat Rescue when she can.

Kim looks forward to meeting and greeting clients with their pets.

Ever since Liz was young, she knew she wanted to work with animals. Liz has been a receptionist in the veterinary field for over 15 years and loves working with pets and their owners. She feels that it is truly a rewarding job and can’t imagine doing anything else. Liz has worked at Life Care since December 2007.

Liz lives with her husband Mike and they have three wonderful sons, Tim, Mike and Nick. In addition to their human family members, their “animal” family consists of 2 dogs and 3 cats: Anna, a shepherd, Sami a retriever mix and Zoey, Harley, Icky all Domestic longhairs. All but one of their pets have been adopted from different animal rescue groups.

Sarah earned her bachelors of applied science in biology from Winona State University in 2004. This led to her first career as a naturalist in the metro area. She also has an associates degree in Culinary Arts which led to her next pursuit as a pastry baker.

To kick off her childhood dream of being in the veterinary field Sarah joined the Life Care Team in August of 2016. In her free time she enjoys baking, hanging out with her husband Mike, and visiting the nursing home with her therapy dog, Susan.
